MyBook Heroes Personalised Book Review!

So a few weeks ago I was approached by a lovely lady named Maarja from MyBook Heroes to do a review on one of their personalized books.

As I looked into this start up company, I was quite intrigued by their books of charm, and so I agreed.

MyBook Heroes are a company based in Cyprus, and are all about developing books for children which bring out their greatest aspects, and to be the best version of themselves as they grow.

I really liked this idea as I think it is very important to try to bring this in as early as possible into a child’s life.

So now for the books themselves!

When you order your book, you basically create it yourself. There are three books to choose from: “Discover the Determination of You”, “Discover the Courage in You”, and “Discover the Leader in You”. I chose the very first one, about determination, as I thought it was best suited to my daughter. She is most definitely a determined and strong little lady, and however hard that is at times, I never want her to lose all of that willpower!

Once you choose your book, you can pick one of the two languages they offer, English or Greek, then enter your child’s name, gender and the avatar you think fits closest to your child.

Looking good Isla!

Lastly you can add a cover that you like, and a dedication which I think is a lovely touch if you are gifting it to someone, or like me you just want something a little bit special at the end of the book for your child to read and keep in mind. This is what I went with!

Honestly I could not wait to get my hands on this book. There were a couple of factors that I loved about it and you will see what they are shortly.

Delivery day arrived, and albeit a bit squished in my post box (thank you Mr. Postman) I was still excited to see this end result! I could instantly see that care was taken by this lovely company to send me something that was meaningful. The book was in a ribbon with this sweet little note attached.

The first thing I noticed about the book itself was the illustrations. Gorgeous eye catching colours throughout, characters are quite anime looking so it sort of gave me that feeling of something I would have seen growing up myself.

The book is a great size too, all 36 pages of it, and the pages really stand out. When I pointed out our little character Isla to my daughter, she looked on in amazement! Having the same name as a character in a book? Totally awesome!

The personalization is one of my favourite things about this book. To see your childs name throughout a book is so cool, but also even more magical for a child. My daughter is too young to read yet (their books are aimed at ages 3-8) but when she can it will be a whole upgraded experience for her. I noticed while reading the book, that there is quite a bit in it, so you might be reading it to your little one a while before they get the hang of it, but what child doesn’t love when someone reads to them?

The whole idea of having their name throughout also means that the book can be ideally kept as a keepsake for many years to come, and I am all about keepsakes! My only downside really for the book is that it’s not a hardback, but that’s because I just like them for tougher wear and tear! It’s very cheap to cover books yourself though so it’s not that big a deal, it’s still a great book!

The other aspect I adore about the book I chose is that it is space themed. Myself and my other half love things space related and although the book is about determination and not necessarily about space education, I love the way it is put together and can send a child’s mind away from the everyday ordinary.

Overall I am happy with this book and look forward to Isla looking back on it in times to come, reminding herself of the bundles of determination she has in real life! It’s definitely not like any other book I have seen before so that makes it unique for me, and I think it would make a very special gift for a little girl or boy.

MyBook Heroes have kindly given me a 10% discount code for all my readers to use towards their personalized books: ISLA10
